About
Linda Hartley (1953-) lives in North Norfolk, England, where the wild spaces of sea and sky inspire and nurture her work. She is a transpersonal and body psychotherapist, somatic movement therapy trainer, and writer. The professional training programme she founded and developed for more than thirty years continues to run in several countries. Currently Linda leads retreats in the Discipline of Authentic Movement in her Norfolk studio, and is devoting more time to her writing. You can follow her on Substack - EarthBody Conversations.
With over fifty years of professional experience as an educator and therapist, her books offer insight and detailed descriptions of approaches within the fields of somatic movement, somatic psychology, body psychotherapy and psychospiritual healing crises. Her writing weaves together the healing of body, mind, soul and spirit. The last non-fiction book to be published is Embodied Spirit, Conscious Earth (2024).
Linda published her first novel, The Broken Line, in 2015. A slightly revised edition is being launched in July 2025, along with her second novel, Angel Wing, which is a prequel to The Broken Line. Together they explore the theme of unresolved trauma passed down through three generations of women in one family. Linda was long-listed for the Escalator Prize in 2016.
Several journal articles and book chapters have also been published and can be found on Linda's website.
